VAMOR – 3rd General Assembly & 2nd Internal Technical Workshop

From 11–19 September 2025, the MSCA Doctoral Network VAMOR held the Third General Assembly (GA) and Second Internal Technical Workshop at KU Leuven, Belgium. The program brought together all doctoral candidates (DCs) to advance scientific exchange, strengthen collaboration, and enhance professional skills within the field of vibro-acoustics.

Program Highlights

  • ISAAC training sessions in numerical and experimental techniques in applied acoustics
  • GA with research progress presentations and discussions
  • Campus and laboratory tours, peer forums, and project planning sessions
  • Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and entrepreneurial skills training, networking poster session with MSCA DN METAVISION and APRIORI
  • Project management course
  • Customer-oriented communication training at Siemens Digital Industries Software

Event Summary

On Monday 15 September, the GA commenced with a comprehensive overview of the project agenda, deliverables, and task allocation. DCs then presented their latest research progress and received feedback from supervisors.

On Tuesday, DCs visited the LMSD facilities and were introduced to the testing methods of diverse advanced acoustic and vibration equipment. In the afternoon, collaborative sessions allowed DCs to negotiate responsibilities and optimize task distribution within the project.

Wednesday afternoon, DCs attended a networking poster session with fellows from MSCA DN METAVISION and APRIORI, gaining insights into each other’s research and identifying potential areas for collaboration.

The week concluded on Friday with customer-oriented communication training at Siemens Digital Industries Software, together with fellows from METAVISION. C-me color profiling helped DCs develop an intuitive understanding of their own personalities, while personality-based interactive exercises provided new insights into communication styles, workplace dynamics, and teamwork.

Overall, the event not only highlighted the progress of VAMOR research but also reinforced team cohesion. The combination of scientific exchange, practical training including ISAAC sessions, and cross-network interaction strengthened collaboration and prepared DCs for future challenges in vibro-acoustics research.
